I welcome the recent announcement of the major new exhibition being planned for the Australian War Memorial which pays tribute to the unheralded role of the 10,000 Australian airmen who flew with Bomber Command during the Second World War. Bomber Command played a pivotal role in the overall Allied war effort. It conducted hazardous operations…
Under the Albanese government all aspects of energy generation are off track, with Labor’s target of 82 per cent renewables by 2030 way behind schedule and running at less than one-third of the pace required last year, while gas prices are spiking following the energy regulator’s risk notice warning of gas shortages impacting Australians right…
I rise to speak on the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Human Rights report, Inquiry into Australia’s human rights framework. By way of background, on 15 March 2023, the Attorney-General, the Hon. Mark Dreyfus KC, referred Australia’s Human Rights Framework to the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Human Rights for inquiry and report. I thank all my…
Human rights act could lead to foreign committees undermining our legislative powers As the debate over a proposed Human Rights Act resurfaces in Australia, I can’t help but feel like we’re being asked if we need an extra lock on an already secure door. It is unconscionable that our students and educators are forced to confront such perilous situations on a daily basis. As we witness principals, teachers, and…
As I was saying before adjournment last night, this government is no friend of small business. We saw what they did through their industrial relations changes. We’re seeing that they’re not following through with their commitment in relation to reducing energy prices, which we know small businesses are hit with in an incredible way. They…
The WA state government is not addressing the real issues affecting Western Australians. The Cook Labor government should be working on ensuring Western Australia is ready for AUKUS and preparing the defence resources we need to develop our nuclear submarine capability. They should be working on delivering their election commitment to the police force so…
The issue with the obsession of Prime Minister Albanese, Minister Bowen and Minister Catherine King with fuel efficiency standards is that they are not in any way equivalent to the comparable international markets. The pace and the time frame are not the same. It’s very easy for the government to stand up here and say,…
Along with most Australians, I celebrate Australia Day because it’s a day to reflect on our wonderful country, which we are all truly blessed to be in. Sadly, because of the Left, this day is turning into yet another divisive issue that’s fracturing our nation, and this has been spurred on by radical activists and…
