I move: That, in the opinion of the Senate, the following is a matter of urgency: The Albanese Government’s failure to ensure Australia’s sovereign capability in the supply of fertiliser, placing Australian agriculture, the resources sector and national food security at serious risk. Just weeks after the US-Israel strikes on Iran, the Albanese government has…
Two weeks ago, when we were last here, the opposition was accused of spreading misinformation about an impending fuel shortage crisis. Australian eyes do not lie; they have seen fuel shortages across the country. Following our call to action, the Prime Minister convened National Cabinet and declared that it is a different world. But it’s…
From birth to age 3, a child’s brain develops at an extraordinary pace. In those early years, more than a million neural connections form every second. The bonds formed between baby, mother and father in this period form the foundations for emotional security, learning capacity and life-long wellbeing. I spoke about early childhood development in…
I want to make a few short remarks in this discussion we are having tonight on the Closing the gap statement and report. Sadly, the Closing the gap report is another reminder that this Albanese government is not delivering the tangible outcomes that are necessary for Indigenous Australians. Good to see you, thanks for coming in to the studio. Senator O’Sullivan: Thanks for having me, Ash. Ash Gillon: Now your title probably tells us a bit about your priorities in this area. We know…
I am privileged to be appointed Shadow Minister for Choice in Childcare and Early Learning and Shadow Minister for Child Protection and Prevention of Family Violence in Angus Taylor’s Coalition Shadow Ministry. Labor’s childcare system is locked into a rigid, one-size-fits-all model forcing children into centre-based care with little regard for what genuinely suits their families. This simply does not reflect the reality or needs of Australian…
James Mcpherson: Joining me is my panel, Nova Radio host Michelle Stevenson and Liberal Senator Matt O’Sullivan. Welcome to you both. Matt, let me start with you. Why is Angus Taylor the man to save the Liberals rather than Andrew Hastie? Matt O’Sullivan: Well, look, we had to make a very difficult decision during the week as a party and…
Today I resigned from my position as Shadow Assistant Minister for Fisheries, Forestry and Infrastructure, effective immediately. This decision has not been taken lightly. However, I have reached the view that the Coalition currently lacks the policy clarity, leadership and strategic direction required to rebuild trust with voters and present a compelling alternative government. In…
